Education and work experience:
Higher education (University degree or higher) in IT&T area and not less than 2 years of work experience as Software Application Engineer.
Main functions:
- Provide ongoing support of the software applications in the section.
- Provide reliable and effective implementation of new software applications.
- Ensure that all required activities are executed in the frame of ongoing projects.
- Work closely with KPO users to identify opportunities of more efficient usage of existing systems.
- Evaluate current KPO software/IT solutions to meet business needs and end-user requirements.
- Recommend improving and/or upgrading application software to meet business needs and end-users requirements.
- Update in timely manner application software on KPO servers and/or workstations within the area of responsibility and competence and in compliance with KPO policies and procedures.
- Develop new and/or modify existing application software to meet business needs and end-user requirements within the area of responsibility and competence.
- Make configuration changes in application software to meet business needs and end-user requirements within the area of responsibility and competence.
- Monitor availability of application software within the area of responsibility, and, in case problem is discovered, immediately report to Lead Software Application Engineer.
- Monitor performance of application software within the area of responsibility, and, in case problem is discovered, determine problem source and its solution; timely report to Lead Software Application Engineer about problem, its source and methods of solving the problem.
- Actively to participate in technical meetings within the area of responsibility and competence.
- Prepare application software documentation package and keep it up to date in KPO electronic document management system.
- Provide accurate information to Lead Software Application Engineer with work results in the form of weekly reports.
- Perform other, not described in this job description, Line Manager’s tasks within the competence of this job position due to operational necessity.
- Be directly involved in implementation of the projects assigned to the section within the area of responsibility and competence.
Necessary knowledge and skills:
- mastery English is an advantage on this role.
- knowledge of IT infrastructure for support and development Petrotechnical applications in the company;
- knowledge and experience in formal systems analysis.
