Education and work experience:
Higher education (University degree or higher) in HSE and ecological areas and not less than 2 years of work experience as Safety Specialist.
Main functions:
- Provide specialist support to departmental and company personnel to ensure the safety and health of workers in a workplace. Assist line manager to ensure that the workplace complies with relevant safety regulations and guidelines. Participate in coaching of employees to improve safety awareness within circle of competence.
- Implement tasks assigned by line manager to maintain and improve Safety Management System of KPO. Identify potential hazards, risks and opportunities, and assist in developing solutions to mitigate these risks.
- Provide specialist support to the line manager and other team members in ensuring that Planning, Standards and Procedures process are fit for purpose and effectively implemented. Ensure delivery of high quality work in time as required by line manager and other stakeholders.
- Provide specialist support in development and review of Safety and Environment (S&E) Management System (MS) documentation in accordance with the KPO document management policy requirements.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest safety standards, regulations and guidelines to ensure that the workplace remains in compliance with relevant standards, laws and regulations.
- Coordinate translation of standards and procedures in Kazakh, Russian and English languages.
- Participate in implementation of S&E initiatives such as Safety Culture and behavioral safety program, S&E MS documentation improvement, S&E alerts and learnings cascade.
Necessary knowledge and skills:
- mastery English is an advantage on this role;
- working knowledge of HSE topics / vocabulary;
- the principles of international oil field practices in safety management;
- company organisation structure;
- risk management methods and principles;
- knowledge of oil and gas industry;
- labour code / law on civil protection of the RoK;
- safety rules and regulation;
- ISO 45001 requirements.Planning and coordination skills;
- ability to perform analysis of HSE trends to identify areas of improvement;
- influence and communication
- writing, facilitation and presentation skills;
- proficiency in all MS Office applications and other software packages, database applications and electronic filing system.
