Higher education (University degree or higher) in petroleum engineering area or in the relevant speciality and not less than 4 years of work experience in the position of Reservoir Engineer.

Main functions:

  • Be fully conversant with the reservoir simulation model incorporating complex fluid and geological models used by KPO for evaluating field development options.
  • Provide production profiles to evaluate and assess the technical and economic feasibility of development projects through the value assurance stage gates from concept assessment and selection to the definition of the selected concept.
  • Evaluate and provide production and reservoir profiles for different development options to support the reserves redetermination and the design project update.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the production forecasting model by incorporating the agreed plant constraints and shutdown periods.
  • Work closely with the Reservoir Development and Reservoir Management Sections to that the predictions from the reservoir model are in line with actual historical data.
  • Provide input in reservoir management strategy changes and production/injection optimization based on model forecast.
  • Participate in preparation of the 5-Year business plan and provide incremental production forecasts for each project.
  • Prepare reports and presentation to document work done.
  • Work closely with Reservoir Management group and Production Department to update field/plant/well production/injection forecast constraints.
  • Provide sensitivity case for different operation/development scenarios based on technical, economical and operational factors.
  • Evaluate development project by optimizing the number of wells and surface facilities through put and constraints.
  • Compare the current production data with predictions from field reservoir simulation model and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Present KPO’s development strategy at technical meetings with Parent Companies and Government agencies representatives.
  • Support preparation of annual work programme and budget in relevant spheres of activities.

Necessary knowledge and skills:

  • Mastery English is an advantage on this role.
  • Reservoir simulation methods in addressing complex reservoir development issues.
  • Technical expertise for construction/update of reservoir simulation models. Experience to develop programme to optimise liquid and gas recovery.
  • Computer literacy: spreadsheet, word processing and power point presentations.
