Education and work experience:

Higher education (technical or in economics) without any work experience requirements or secondary professional education (technical or in economics) and not less than 2 years of work experience as Contracts Technician or not less than 5 years of work experience in other positions held by specialists with secondary professional education (technical or in economics).

Main functions:

  • Ensure that, from the commercial/ contractual perspective, the correct equipment and services are contracted and administered in the most cost beneficial manner and in compliance with clearly defined KPO tendering and Contracts administration procedures.
  • Formulation of effective contracting strategy within Well Engineering Operations.
  • Revising of existing KPO Contract proformas and/ or drafting of new specific terms and conditions.
  • Sourcing of capital services and equipment to support Well Engineering operations.
  • Compilation of Invitation to Tender Packages in tandem with the WCS Technical Contracts Engineer.
  • Tendering, commercial evaluation, negotiation and award of services all in accordance with KPO procedures.
  • Compilation of JPC Submissions for Section Head review and approval.
  • Ensuring compliance with Production Sharing Agreement, KPO and JOC Tendering Procedures.
  • Negotiation and drafting of service contracts and liaison with related KPO functions to conclude contract execution.
  • Preparation and presentation of recommended tendering activities and contract awards to the KPO Joint Procurement Committee (JPC).
  • Post award contract administration and management reporting on contract term, expenditure and amendments.
  • Service Contractor liaison and management to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Review of KPO service contract proformas and recommendation on amendments.
  • Perform other instructions of management / line management within its competence.

Necessary knowledge and skills:

  • Mastery English is an advantage on this role.
  • Demonstrable thorough understanding of the practical contracting issues associated with remote Drilling Operations, Well Engineering services e.g. Terms and Conditions, Payment Structures/ Schedules, Dispute Resolution and Amendment Tracking.
  • Be a first-class communicator, able to effectively interface with KPO well engineering personnel, management and Contractor representatives at all levels and integrate in to the WCS;
  • Proven track record in contractual negotiation, drafting, delivery and management of capital well engineering contracts and associated logistics support in an international environment;
  • Ability to work to challenging project/ tendering schedules and prioritise contracting requirements;
  • Able to constructively challenge existing preconceptions, find and apply innovative solutions and realise cost reductions wherever possible within the contracting process.
