Education and work experience:

Higher education (University degree or higher) in HSE sphere and not less than 2 years of work experience as Safety Engineer.

Main functions:

  • Ensure the workplace complies with relevant safety regulations and guidelines. Provide practical advice and coach employees how to implement safety regulation, procedures and guidelines;
  • Provide facilitation of Incident Reporting and Learning process ensure hign qulity outcome. Ensure effective implementation of behavioural observation programs (e.g. HSE Card) and facilitate the program activites, including reporting and analysis;
  • Perform tasks assigned by line manager and ensure delivery of high quality work in time as required by line manager and other stakeholders;
  • Provide expertise and support for incident investigation and learning procees;
  • Provide support for incident classification and notification process;
  • Provide support to incident investigation teams and facilitate application of incident investigation and analysis methodologies;
  • Coordinate training process on incident investigation and root cause analysis across KPO. Ensure adequate resources to provide incident investigation training to personnel, including, selection and assessment of potential service providers and trainers / instructors, participating in development and preparation of incident and accidents investigation training programs, the preparation of handouts;
  • Implement improvement initiatives of the incident reporting and investigation process, quality of investigation reports and the process of root causes analysis;
  • Provide verification of the quality and completeness of information in incident investigation report and other documents provided by responsible parties and return it for rework if required and control the development and implementation of TapRoot fault tree and root cause analysis software, and to consult HSE departments within KPO for effective root causes recognition;
  • Support preparation and distribution of flashbacks with lessons learned from investigations to all the company and parent companies personnel. Submit weekly incident reports to established distribution list for awareness within KPO and parent companies. Prepare presentations on investigation of major incidents for KPO management and Parent Companies. Manage registration of incidents and corrective actions in the system;
  • Maintain database of safety alerts and learning from incidents bulletins;
  • Perform internal and external notifications of incidents as per KPO procedure and RoK regulation;
  • Provide support for implementation of HSE Card program;
  • Conduct review of HSE cards to identify reported incidents and near misses;
  • Activelly participate in KPO safety performance and safety culture improvement initiatives;
  • Liaise with KPo departments and contactors to raise awareness of incident reporting, investigation and learning process, as well as HSE card reporting program;
  • Interact with all KPO departments at different levels, as well as contractor companies, to promote reporting of near misses, unsafe acts and behaviours;
  • Perform tasks assigned by line manager that necessary to ensure delivery of safety programs and meeting Goal Zero objective of the company.

Necessary knowledge and skills:

  • Mastery English is an advantage on this role;
  • Working knowledge of HSE topics / vocabulary;
  • The principles of international oil field practices in safety management;
  • Company organisation structure;
  • Risk management methods and principles;
  • Knowledge of oil and gas industry;
  • Labour code / law on civil protection of the RoK;
