Education and work experience:

Higher education (University degree or higher) in oil and gas area  or in the relevant speciality and not less than 5 years of work experience as Project Engineer.

Main functions:

  • Responsible to Lead and drive full EPC of Projects and modifications (End to End) in line with the Field Modification Requests (FMRs). Develop Project study/strategy and coordination of all required stakeholders both internal and external as required to achieve project completion and handover.
  • Control completion of integrated work plans/schedules and progress. Determine budget, cost control in accordance with unit’s prioritisation, FFM resource level, available finance and time schedule.
  • Define and monitor performance targets/KPI’s of the project delivery process. Provide continuous improvements to the field modification processes aligned with KPO HSE and Quality procedures.
  • Accountable to present budget and technical submissions to PSA per KPO AWPB.
  • Coordinate and supervise PE team ensuring approved FMR’s are being progressed per approved schedule and support PE’s as required.
  • Interface and coordinate other specialists within and/or outside Operations Directorates in order to ensure develop/endorse proper business cases, cost estimates, economic evaluation, schedule and budget allocations.
  • Issue the DSP (decision support package) including feasibility study, cost estimates, EPC schedule, economical evaluation and other technical reports during the conceptual design stage of FMRs with input from other departments in KPO. Participate in AR (Assurance review) process, where applicable
  • Issue high quality conceptual designs including key project documents and engineering reports in a timely manner.
  • Perform peer and inter-discipline checks on work by engineers within and outside the Project Engineering Team, to assign tasks to subordinate personnel and control their performance and to perform annual appraisal of work of the subordinates.
  • Supervise engineering studies by external engineering contractors, to ensure progress and quality of work per schedule is being delivered.
  • Supervise external construction contractors, to ensure progress per schedule is being delivered.
  • Report progress of all assigned work to the Field Facilities Modification Manager.
  • Responsible to ensure field modifications requiring RoK permits are submitted to meet project handover schedule.
  • Assign tasks to project engineering and control team and support juniors in the project team.
  • Implement continuous improvements of FFM process and procedures, project control systems (monitor and report schedule), cost, risk / opportunities from project initiation to the construction phase.
  • Review the prepared OPEX and CAPEX annual work programme (AWP) of field modifications
  • Regular updates to the stakeholders on the progress, risks/opportunities and changes to the AWP.
  • Develop procedures and tools to establish a project control and planning system to manage field modifications and integrate them to existing KPO processes.

Necessary knowledge and skills:

  • Mastery English is an advantage on this role;
  • Onshore oil & gas upstream facilities;
  • Competence in the process of multidiscipline engineering, procurement and construction workflows with working knowledge of the significance in deliverable hierarchies and prioritization;
  • RoK and international codes, regulations and standards relating to process and plant design;
  • Labour legislation fundamentals; occupational labour and health protection regulations;
  • Planning, scheduling, and report writing;
  • Database management, Primavera, SAP system, Microsoft office applications;
  • Experience in management of project planning and cost control of field modifications/projects;
  • Ability to interface with stakeholders;
  • Personally resilient, flexible, self-confident, assertive and have ability to motivate and build consensus;
