Education and work experience:

Higher technical education (University degree or higher) in mechanical area or the relevant speciality and not less than 2 years of work experience as Mechanical Engineer.

Main functions:

  • Support Technical Responsible Persons to assure design and operational integrity and appropriate technical condition of KPO process mechanical static equipment and complying with HSE requirements.
  • Provide in liaison with the Senior Rotating Equipment Mechanical Engineer the technical expertise on all engineering subject matter pertaining to Integrity of mechanical static equipment, namely expert advice on the selection, design, installation, operations and maintenance of mechanical static equipment.
  • Support Operation and Projects with a focus on providing safe design concepts, systems selection for the reliability, input in to risk based inspection programmes, input into fitness for service integrity assessment activities, failure analysis and the implementation of the best in class technical standards.
  • Apply the international and KPO standards for project specifications and contractors' activities on mechanical static equipment engineering.
  • Advise on the assurance of fitness for purpose of mechanical static equipment.
  • Support the provision of the technical assurance for all aspects of the project related with the Mechanical scope.
  • Participate to relevant Management of Change Reviews, barriers audits and annual barriers status reports;
  • Support to coordinate independent verifications.
  • Assess the design and maintenance work carried out to ensure that the proposed solutions meet integrity, reliability, operability and maintainability requirements.
  • Provide support during the fabrication/repair, testing, installation and commissioning of mechanical static equipment, and oversight shop and field acceptance testing ensuring that the proposed solutions meet integrity, reliability, operability and maintainability requirements.
  • Support the oversight of the development of pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up plans for mechanical static equipment ensuring that the proposed solutions meet integrity, reliability, operability and maintainability requirements.
  • Promote the understanding and application of the risk management techniques within the discipline.
  • Support maintenance and operational staff, participate in teams to troubleshoot customer issues and conduct field performance tests.
  • Control quality and preparation of technical documentation in timely manner, compliance with project equipment, components and materials with effective standards and technical terms.
  • Liaise with the Senior Rotating Equipment Mechanical Engineer within his/her area of responsibility. 
  • Perform other instructions of management / line manager / direct superior within its competence.

Necessary knowledge and skills:

  • mastery English is an advantage on this role.
  • international design codes and standards, engineering specifications, design philosophy, functions, operating mode and operation procedure of company’s equipment, have the ability to prepare design, procurement, construction, (pre) commissioning and hand-over specification packages for mechanical static equipment;
  • principles of process safety, risk assessment / HAZOP;
  • method statement and statutory materials related to equipment maintenance management;
  • principles of maintenance organization within O&G companies;
  • maintenance organization and techniques;
  • principles of O&G plant production processes;
  • compilation procedure of equipment passports, operation manuals, punchlists, specifications and other technical documentation;
  • principles of production and labour organization and management;
  • principles of labour legislation;
  • principles of environmental legislation; occupational safety regulations and standards;
  • materials selection for sour oilfield environments;
  • latest developments and current best practice in piping, pipeline and mechanical engineering;
  • international codes and standards applicable to design, construction, inspection, and repair of static equipment within the oil and gas industry  (API, ASME, ASTM, NACE, ISO, EN);
  • material properties and their application in highly sour oilfield environment;
  • corrosion monitoring methods and corrosion control solutions commonly used in the oil and gas industry;
  • corrosion modeling, testing, and prediction methods used to facilitate or validate materials selection;
  • corrosion risk assessment methodologies and tools - both qualitative and quantitative;
  • metallurgical   analysis   processes   applicable   to   material property determination and for failure analysis;
  • methods used for inspection and flaw detection of stationary mechanical equipment, but there is no requirement to have skills in performing these inspections.
