Education and work experience:

Higher education (University degree or higher) in HSE or ecology areas and not less than 2 years of work experience in the lead specialist positions as per speciality or not less than 6 years of work experience in the specialist/engineer positions as per speciality.

Preferable to have Internationally recognised occupational certification in Occupational Safety and Health, e.g. NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma.

Main functions:

  • To act as focal point and Subject Matter Expert in KPO for Incident Reporting and Learning methodologies and process, HSE Card and other related programs and process as they may emerge.
  • To ensure development fit-for-purpose procedures and guidelines for Incident Reporting and Learning, HSE Cards program and other related documents. Translate the guidelines and procedures into practice and solve common and non-routine safety challenges and provides safety recommendations which have a perceptible impact on business safety performance; actively drives the identification, development and implementation of new opportunities to optimise and improve the reporting and learning process, HSE Card and other related programs in KPO. Coach KPO and contractors’ personnel on best practice in Incident reporting and learning processes and techniques.
  • To ensure incident notification to internal and external stakeholders (e.g. regulatory authorities, shareholding partners, etc.) performed per company and RoK requirements.
  • Act as a technical expert and support KPO departments in correct implementation of the Incident Reporting and Learning processes and compliance with KPO and RoK legislation requirements related to incident notification, investigation and reporting.
  • Provide subject matter expert support for implementation of investigation methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain procedures for incident investigation and learning process, and HSE Card program.
  • Provide assurance for effective implementation of Incident Investigation and learning procedure, HSE Card procedure.
  • Facilitate internal and external incident notification process, including reporting to government authorities.
  • Arrange and facilitate Incident Review Panels.
  • Ensure that incident classification is done in accordance with IOGP guidance.
  • Monitor implementation and provide assurance of effective close out of corrective actions.
  • Establish, maintain the list of incident investigation team leads and methodology facilitators and ensure they received necessary trainings.
  • Provide quality assurance of incident investigation process.
  • Ensure effective implementation of HSE Card program, including incentive schemes to promote active participation in the program.
  • Implement improvement opportunities, automation and digitalisation of incident and HSE card reporting and analysis process
  • Set tasks and targets for subordinate personnel, monitor activities, assignments and priorities and promote safety culture amongst the staff.
  • Interact with all KPO departments at different levels, as well as contractor companies, to promote incident reporting and learning best practice
  • Perform tasks assigned by line manager that necessary to ensure delivery of Safety Controllership programs and objectives.

Necessary knowledge and skills:

  • mastery English is an advantage on this role;
