TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST

Education and work experience:

Higher (University degree or higher) education in computer science, information technology sphere without any work experience requirements or secondary professional education in the relevant speciality or other technical and not less than 2 years of work experience.

Main functions:

• Performance of the technical tasks aimed at operation and repair of telecommunications systems;
• Technical support in serviceable condition and development of telecommunications systems;
• Carry out the control over correct operation of telecommunications systems, to undertake routine inspections and repair of systems of telecommunications and communications;
• Carry out preparation of the equipment for work, test checking with the purpose of failure detection, to carry out adjustment of separate elements and blocks;
• Keep the records on parameters and an operation mode of the telecommunications equipment, the technical specification;
• Apply technical knowledge in the field of telecommunications systems for solving of the problems arising during work;
• Support in serviceable condition and upgrade telecommunication systems (cabling systems, lines, distribution boxes, connection boxes) and remote telephony equipment of multichannel telecommunication systems (MTS);
• Solve the problems promptly and provide reliable and uninterrupted work and service of all voice and telecommunications data systems, including daily maintenance of the equipment, adjustment and installation of the equipment for users (telephone sets, radio);
• Perform other instructions of management / line manager / direct superior within its competence.

Necessary knowledge and skills:

• Legislative acts and other normative materials regulating use of telecommunication systems and a communication facility at the enterprise;
• Main principles of telecommunication systems and communication facility;
• Types of systems of telecommunications and communication facility;
• Operational characteristics, design features, purpose and operating modes of systems of telecommunications and communication facility, rules of their operation;
• Valid standards, the order of registration of the technical specifications;
•  The advanced domestic and foreign experience of use and development of telecommunication systems and communication facility;
• Last achievements of technological progress in the field of telecommunication systems and communication facility;
• Telecom installation and maintenance competency.
