Education and work experience:
Higher education in instrument area and not less than 2 years of preferable work experience as Process Control Engineer
Main functions:
- Analyse and optimize process control systems to enhance production efficiency and quality while ensuring environmental and safety compliance.
- Diagnose and rectify issues with control systems and instrumentation to minimize downtime and maintain operational integrity.
- Implement continuous improvement strategies in process control, leveraging new technologies and methodologies to drive performance and reliability.
- Monitor and analyse system performance data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for system optimization.
- Design and implement control strategies to improve process stability, efficiency, and safety.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to integrate control systems with overall process operations. Interface with, and providing technical expertise to Production Excellence Department and Operations Readiness and Assurance team members.
- Develop and maintain process control documentation, including standard operating procedures, system configurations, and training materials for operational staff.
- Conduct regular system audits and preventative maintenance to ensure control systems are functioning optimally and to reduce the risk of unplanned outages or malfunctions.
- Conduct process assessments, troubleshoots issues, and provides technical support to unit personnel.
- Work on projects related to process optimization such as Advanced Process Control, control system upgrades, Alarm management and technology enhancements and integrates with existing process control network.
Necessary knowledge and skills:
- Mastery English is an advantage on this role.
- Strong understanding of process control principles, including feedback control, cascade control, and advanced control strategies.
- Strong knowledge of automation technologies and programming languages.
- Proficiency in instrumentation and measurement techniques used in oil and gas processing plants.
- Familiarity with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, UniSim) for modeling and analysis.
- Control System Expertise.
- Experience with distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLC), and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.
- Ability to design, implement, and troubleshoot control loops and logic diagrams.
