Education and work experience:
Higher education (University degree or higher) in the Mechanical Engineering and not less than 4 years of work experience as Rotating Equipment Mechanical Engineer.
Main functions:
- Ensure serviceability and appropriate technical condition of company’s rotating equipment. Perform full analysis of rotating equipment, on routine and non-routine basis using the condition monitoring software and submit notifications in order to improve the equipment overall performance and optimise the equipment life.
- Manage KPO wide condition monitoring execution and data analysis to identify and recommend solutions to all key threats of Rotating Equipment that may effect safe production.
- Analyse and raise corrective work orders for rectification of defects found on rotating equipment by analysing operational/running data.
- Manage the performance monitoring and predictive maintenance schedules on critical equipment using KPO condition monitoring software to maintain the rotating equipment integrity.
- Provide Senior technical advice and recommendation on vibration or performance related issue of Rotating Equipments systems after collection of accurate data and analysing vibration data.
- Provide Senior technical advice and recommendation on lube oil related issue of Rotating Equipments systems after analysing vibration data.
- Manage monitoring/inspection activities on a non-routine basis to operational units and provide analysis report.
- Oversee thermographic survey of rotating related equipment as plan predictive maintenance schedules;
- Coordinate rotating equipment activities with the contractors or KPO operation that are performing simultaneously maintence or operations in the same area.
- Manage and follow up on all raise notification and justification to minimize the impact of unplanned rotating equipment breakdowns.
- Oversee all rotating equipment maintenance repairs with high priority completion timeline, by providing OEM interface technical support and spare part verification.
- Oversee the routine condition monitoring of rotating equipment package by way of data collection and first line analysis and interpretation of vibration readings.
- Supervise and provide technical advise for rotating equipment alignment activities on non-routine basis.
- Supervise and provide technical advise for in-situ balancing wherever applicable and supervise rotor-balancing activities at shop and shop balancing.
- Obtain reports from condition monitoring software after analysis and prepare detailed notes to be stored in the individual equipment history.
- Lead in the planning, preparation and execution of rotating equipment shutdown activities, and normal operations high priority critical equipment corrective maintenance.
- Provide oversight to commission of new equipment, to ensure design criteria is obtained and record baseline data.
- Owner of action items associated with; Bad Actor Management workflow, Root Cause Analysis, Management of Change process, Asset Integrity improvement initiative, new technology deployment activities, Department Business Plan item, as assigned by Lead Rotating Equipment Mechanical Engineer.
Necessary knowledge and skills:
- Upper-intermediate (B2) English level is an advantage on this role
- Be fully conversant with all facilities required for plant and equipment operations;
- Expertise in Machinery Condition Monitoring including vibration analysis , these may include but not limited to: Microlog Data Collector, SKF vibration collector, Bentley Nevada System 1, Thermographic survey equipment.
- Machinery troubleshooting.
- Performance monitoring of equipment.
- Working experience in the troubleshooting and repair of Centrifugal & Reciprocating Compressors, Steam Turbines, Gears, Mechanical Seals & flush plans, ANSI / API Pumps.
- Organization of maintenance service
- Preventive maintenance system and efficient process equipment operation;
- Engineering specifications, design philosophy, function, operating modes and rules of company’s equipment operation;
- Repair and maintenance systems and techniques of rotating equipments;
- Equipment installation, commissioning and set up methods;
- Compilation procedure of equipment passports, operation manuals, punch lists, specifications and other technical documentation;
- Procedure for equipment handover for repair and maintenance and acceptance upon completion of repair;
- Advanced domestic and external experience in respect of production maintenance;
- Principles of rotating equipment (pumps, gas turbines, gas/diesel engines, compressors, sealing system, lubrication system, controls and protection system) design, maintenance and operations.
- Manage the quality of detailed analysis of vibration signatures;
- Manage the quality of in-situ balancing activities;
- Manage the quality machine alignment activities;
- Have good PC skills with a full understanding of vibration analysis software;
- Highly effective people skills with demonstrated ability to work on teams and with diverse work-groups including craft-persons, vendors and various engineering disciplines.
