Education and work experience:
Higher education (University degree or higher) in mechanical engineering and not less than 2 years of work experience as Rotating Equipment Mechanical Engineer
Main functions:
- Ensure serviceability (operational integrity) and appropriate technical condition of company’s process equipment (rotating equipment). Perform full analysis of rotating equipment, on routine and non-routine basis using the condition monitoring software and submit reports (Predictive Maintenance Reliability, Availability) in order to improve the equipment overall performance and optimise the equipment life.
- Ensure compliance with diagnostic monitoring requirements and planned preventive maintenance frequency. Perform supervision of the process rotating equipment condition of production facility in accordance with original Equipment manufacture and ROK legislative requirements.
- Analyse and raise corrective work orders for rectification of defects found on rotating equipment by analysing operational/running data.
- Plan performance monitoring and predictive maintenance schedules on critical equipment using KPO condition monitoring software to maintain the rotating equipment integrity, monitor and optimize its usage to KPO.
- Provide expert technical advice and recommendation on vibration or performance related issue of Rotating Equipments systems after collection of accurate data and analysing vibration data.
- Provide expert technical advice and recommendation on lube oil related issue of Rotating Equipments systems after analysing vibration data.
- Participate in monitoring/inspection activities on a non-routine basis to operational units and provide analysis report.
- Conduct thermographic survey of plant equipment as plan predictive maintenance schedules;
- Liaise and co-ordinate activities with the personnel of other companies performing repair maintenance work.
- Raise notification and justification to ensure unplanned rotating equipment breakdowns are minimal to enhance KPO revenue.
- Follow up the preventive maintenance stages and identify possible deadlines for equipment maintenance completion and re-start; and provide technical advise on spares, consumable resources and tools for effective execution of rotating equipment maintenance activities by Units.
- Complete routine monitoring of rotating equipment package by way of data collection and first line analysis and interpretation of vibration readings.
- Supervise and provide technical advise for rotating equipment alignment activities on non-routine basis.
- Supervise and provide technical advise for in-situ balancing wherever applicable and supervise rotor-balancing activities at shop and shop balancing.
- Obtain reports from condition monitoring software after analysis and prepare detailed notes and presentation in order to show the fault to KPO management.
- Participate in planning, preparation and execution of rotating equipment shutdown activities.
- Perform other projects and improvement initiatives that may be requested by Lead Rotating Equipment Mechanical Engineer within the competence of this job position.
- Own action items and act as focal point in Condition Monitoring and Bad Actor Management workflow, Root Cause Analysis, Management of Change process, Asset Integrity improvement initiative, new technology deployment activities, contracts coordination and Business Plan items for Central Maintenance Rotating as assigned by Lead Rotating Equipment Mechanical Engineer.
Necessary knowledge and skills:
- Upper-intermediate (B2) English level is an advantage on this role;
- Be fully conversant with all facilities required for plant and equipment operations;
- Monitoring, these may include but not limited to: Microlog Data Collector, SKF vibration collector, Bentley Nevada System 1, Thermographic survey equipment;
- Resolutions, instructions, orders, method statements and statutory materials related to equipment maintenance management;
- Organization of maintenance service;
- Preventive maintenance system and efficient process equipment operation;
- Engineering specifications, design philosophy, function, operating modes and rules of company’s equipment operation;
- Repair and maintenance systems and techniques of rotating equipments;
- Equipment installation, commissioning and set up methods;
- Compilation procedure of equipment passports, operation manuals, punchlists, specifications and other technical documentation;
- Procedure for equipment handover for repair and maintenance and acceptance upon completion of repair;
- Advanced domestic and external experience in respect of production maintenance;
- Principles of rotating equipment (pumps, gas turbines, gas/diesel engines, compressors, sealing system, lubrication system, controls and protection system) design, maintenance and operations;
- Be able to carry out detailed analysis of vibration signatures;
- Be able to carry out in-situ balancing;
- Be able to carry out machine alignment;
- Have good PC skills with a full understanding of vibration analysis software;
- Highly effective people skills with demonstrated ability to work on teams and with diverse work-groups including craft-persons, vendors and various engineering disciplines.
