TRANSITION ENGINEER

Education and work experience:

Higher education (University degree or higher) in the Ecology area and not less than 2 years of work experience as Transition Engineer.

Main functions:

• Aggregate data from multiple sources to provide a comprehensive assessment of the transition projects in the areas of sustainability, decarbonization, digitalization, and energy efficiency.
• Interact with internal and external stakeholders ensuring timely, quality and safe execution of planned activities of transition projects in the areas of sustainability, decarbonization, digitalization, and energy efficiency.
• Promote and ensure best available technologies are investigated and applied in the execution of the transition projects in the areas of sustainability, decarbonization, digitalization, and energy efficiency.
• Coordinate and liaise with different KPO departments to ensure that different inputs/aspects are included and integrated in the transition process in the areas of sustainability, decarbonization, digitalization, and energy efficiency.
• Define timeline, roadmap and key milestones to ensure that green transition projects are finalized according to Company targets.
• Provide/deliver required inputs for the technical reviews/workshops related to transition projects.
• Perform analysis of opportunities internally and externally, learn best practise/experience of other companies in the country and out and parent companies, and evaluate implementation opportunity.
• Lead implementation of pilot transition projects, gathering feedback from company and project stakeholders. Develop report with recommendations.
• Participate in the development and implementation of the strategy based on transformation leading to long-term success that depends on Company’s ability to play a competitive and constructive role in the ongoing global transition.
• Take part in activity of regulatory authorities, Parent Companies, Authority and non-governmental organizations focused on the development of regulations supporting low carbon development strategy.
• Implement and maintain an energy consumption and efficiency monitoring system in line with environmental priorities and sustainability goals: ensure the calculation of specific energy consumption and greenhouse gas emission indicators for key equipment and production areas, automate data collection, processing, and analysis, and create conditions that incentivize the reduction of specific indicators, improvement of energy efficiency, and minimization of environmental impact.
• Coordinate the preparation of studies, feasibility analyses, and programs within the company’s sustainability strategy.
• Develop and support digital programs for automation of fuel and energy resource management and environmental performance.
• Identify opportunities for reducing the carbon footprint, initiate and support the implementation of relevant initiatives and projects aimed at achieving sustainability goals and ensuring compliance with applicable requirements in this area.
• Perform other instructions of management / line manager / direct superior within its competence.
• Put forward a proposal regarding improvement of the activities implemented within this job position.

Necessary knowledge and skills:

• Intermediate (B1) Kazakh level is an advantage on this role;
• Upper-intermediate (B2) English level is an advantage on this role;
• Onshore oil & gas upstream facilities;
• Terminology of design in Oil & Gas business;
• RoK and international codes, regulations and standards regulation to technical documentation;
• Prospects for technical development of the venture;
• KPO value assurance process and procurement and contract process;
• Risk Assessment/HAZOP;
• Latest developments and current best environmental practise.
• Advanced user with excellent skills of operating MS Office;
• Excellent ability to effectively communicate and deliver information;
• Experience with digital monitoring and analytics platforms: SCADA, PI System, Power BI.
• Process automation, digital reporting, big data analytics and forecasting
